Metrical Translations From The German Of Goethe, Schiller, Uhland, Heine, And Others is a book written by Adela Haller and published in 1852. The book is a collection of translated works from several German poets including Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Friedrich Schiller, Ludwig Uhland, Heinrich Heine, and others. The translations are in metered verse, which means that the rhythm and rhyme of the original German poems have been preserved in English. The book includes a preface by the author, in which she explains her approach to translation and her admiration for the German poets. The translations themselves are divided into sections, each dedicated to a different poet. The book provides an insight into the works of some of Germany's most celebrated poets and offers English readers a chance to appreciate their poetry in a new way. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
