In the bestselling tradition of The Friday Night Knitting Club and The Jane Austen Book Club, this heartwarming novel follows three women at a Maine coastal inn who turn to Meryl Streep movies for inspiration as they navigate love, friendship, infidelity, motherhood, and second chances. Two sisters and the cousin they grew up with after a shared tragedy are summoned home to their family matriarch's charming inn on the coast of Maine for a life-changing announcement. Suddenly, Isabel, June, and Kat are back in their childhood attic bedroom--and barely speaking. When their beloved aunt Lolly invites them to join her and the inn's guests for weekly movie night--Meryl Streep month--the women begin to see their complicated lives reflected in films like The Bridges of Madison County, Mamma Mia!, Out of Africa, and The Devil Wears Prada. As secrets surface and long-buried tensions rise, they find themselves talking late into the night about marriage, betrayal, single motherhood, commitment, ambition, and what it truly means to start over. Isabel must confront her husband's affair and a promise that could cost her happiness. June, a devoted single mother, searches for the father her young son has never known. And Kat wrestles with whether to accept her lifelong best friend's marriage proposal. Through it all, the women rediscover the power of female friendship, forgiveness, and reinvention. A warm, character-driven novel about sisters, secrets, and second chances, this story explores how love, forgiveness, and a little cinematic inspiration can help women find their way back to one another--and to themselves.
