Twenty-five years of cooking for Big Salmon Outfitters elk hunting camp. They provided guided hunts for elk, deer, black bear, and mountain goats. There was excellent fishing in the creeks and in Big Salmon Lake just a forty-five minute walk away. As the camp cook, I made the grocery lists, menus, cooked the meals including fresh dinner rolls and desserts. I also baking cookies every day for the lunches.
Along with cooking there was packing, wrangling, corral repairs, setting up camp and tearing it down.
I had the opportunity to meet a lot of people from all over the country, including Canada and Japan. I was lucky to make some lasting friends in the process.
