In 1911, author Arthur Saville visited Exmoor in search of inspiration for his next project. At the suggestion of a friend, he explored the area looking for 'letterboxing' sites where visitors had left their cards in jars or tins in remote locations.
Now, more than a hundred years later, his journal and the postcards he sent home have been discovered by Hilary Holmes - and they reveal a genealogical jigsaw puzzle waiting to be solved.
Through newspaper archives and genealogy tools, Hilary can almost hear Arthur's voice and together they piece together a puzzle like no other.
Join Arthur and Hilary as they visit Minehead, Porlock, Lynmouth, Lynton, Simonsbath, Exford, Dulverton, Dunster, Selworthy, Watchet and Cleeve in this Posted in the Past genealogical novel - a guide to Exmoor's past.
Illustrated with black and white images of postcards.
