The story of the years my family traveled around Florida renting out and selling motor bikes during the late 1940's. We left Ohio in the winter and drove down the two lane route 23 with a caravan of a pickup truck, house trailer and a school bus full of servicycles in parts stored in barrels. Money was lacking but enthusiasm was abundant. After many flat tires, lots of cookies baked and several mishaps we crossed the line into Florida and set up the bikes. Soon after setting up the bikes we would sell a couple to young men in the area. It wasn't long afterward that the sheriff would come and ask us to move on since one of the new owners had crashed and been injured. We followed this pattern for two years. Finally we needed to go home to Ohio for family reasons and the adventure was over.
