Memoirs of a Captivity in Japan V3: During the Years 1811-1813 (1824) is a book written by Vasilii Mikhailovich Golovnin. It is a first-hand account of his experience as a captive in Japan during the early 19th century. The book is the third volume in a series of memoirs and covers the period of Golovnin's captivity from 1811 to 1813. Golovnin was a Russian naval officer who was captured by the Japanese while on a diplomatic mission to Hokkaido. He was held captive for two years before being released and returning to Russia.
