THE MATTERHORN PARADOX is a historical science fiction inspired by a strange event involving Professor John Archibald Wheeler of Princeton University. In the final weeks of Harry S. Truman's presidency, Professor Wheeler was on a night train from Trenton, NJ to Washington, DC with a document containing top secret details of the hydrogen bomb. Only after arriving in Washington, did Wheeler discover the document was missing. It was never found.President-elect, General Dwight D. Eisenhower was furious. After Eisenhower's inauguration, amazingly, nothing happened! There was a reprimand, but it was soon forgotten. Eight month's later, the Soviet Union exploded its first thermonuclear device. Wheeler kept his security clearance, and he continued to work at the highest level on the hydrogen bomb.An easy read that explains Wheeler's improbable immunity; THE MATTERHORN PARADOX is set in a fictional reality consistent with much of the physics Wheeler himself introduced. It is a story of sabotage, espionage, conspiracy to murder, and, of course, time travel.
