Matt Marshall Returns is a captivating story set in the picturesque Arkansas Ozarks. It follows the life of Matt Marshall, who grew up in Mt. View, Arkansas, during the 60s and early 70s. Matt faces ridicule from his peers but learns to master the mandolin, and the story takes readers through his journey from Jr. High to High School. Along the way, Matt joins a bluegrass band that performs at a local barbecue restaurant and eventually gets a recording contract and playing opportunities in Nashville, TN. The tale is filled with excitement and mystery as Matt discovers a cryptic message in a coffee shop and decides to put his life at risk for his country. While working at an Arkansas theme park, Matt meets a young lady who tells him she'll be famous and make movies someday. Does she? Maybe and if she did, you've probably seen her in movies and a very successful TV series about a teacher turned drug dealer. Probably not. This is just an Arkansas Tall Tale! The mystery and intrigue surrounding the cryptic message, coupled with Matt's musical journey, make for an engaging and entertaining read. By the end of this short story, Matt returns to his hometown in the Ozarks. This is pure fiction but based on the author's own Arkansas experiences. All characters and events are fictional and do not represent anyone living or dead.
