How can a whole remain recoverable when knowledge is distributed across persons, artifacts, languages, institutions, and time? What makes humanity a Bridge Species of obligation rather than superiority, and what must every ambitious formal architecture endure before it may claim scientific standing?
The Mathematics of Becoming: Distributed Encoding, Bridge Species Responsibility, and Experimental Accountability completes the principal treatise by developing a disciplined architecture for distributed representation, part-whole reconstruction, holographic analogies, associative memory, error correction, civilizational inheritance, world-models, self-models, other-models, symbolic transmission, future-horizon reasoning, collective intelligence, stewardship, and responsible load bearing. It then carries the formalism into computational experiments, null models, preregistered predictions, sensitivity analysis, validation, replication, falsification, revision, and retirement.
Aston Gustavous Farquharson keeps every constitutional boundary visible. Distributed encoding is not literal duplication; no fragment is presumed to contain a perfect whole; holographic language does not establish one physical mechanism across domains; Bridge Species is not a biological taxon, consciousness detector, intelligence ranking, or doctrine of dominion; and simulation is not evidence merely because it produces a pattern. Every reconstruction must disclose its encoder, surviving subset, decoder, distortion, uncertainty, context, and failure conditions.
The volume continues the human foundation of the SDAE Canon: the spiritual inheritance of parents and grandparents and decades of face-to-face work with thousands of NuSpecians and their families confronting illness, suffering, caregiving, recovery, dying, and grief. These lived realities motivate questions and responsibility without substituting for empirical validation. No measure of capability, productivity, independence, cognition, consciousness reporting, or Bridge performance determines human worth.
Three source-locked figures make the argument visible: Distributed Part-Whole Encoding and Holographic Analogies; The Mathematical Architecture of the Bridge Species; and Computational Experiments, Predictions, and Open Problems. Appendices A and B preserve the complete notation constitution and the twelve anchor equations that govern the larger mathematical audit. This fifth public volume can be read independently while permanent identifiers connect it to the wider fifteen-volume Mathematics of Becoming sequence. Reality remains the final validation set.
