From the creator of Motivational Monsters comes a collection of four darkly twisted novellas sure to intrigue, thrill, and spook even the bravest reader.
A juicy collection of stories, with some significant character development and a lot of original ideas. Recommended!
-Horror After Dark
I found this book to be an extreme delight. Mr. Rumfoot builds each piece with subtle tension rather than in your face horror. But do not misunderstand that statement, the horror is there and very real. You won't find intense gore in these tales, but you will find pleasure in what you read. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up.
-Horror Novel Reviews
I really appreciated the variety in the stories. This meant each tale didn't really outstay its welcome before you finished it. Rumfoot writes in a very easy-to-read manner, and his description of place and emotion conjure details in your mind. I'm not the biggest fan of history, but Rumfoot makes it a very alive setting and I found myself enjoying it.

Inside...
The Ghost Of Naked Molly immerses you in the scheming of Diego del Gilbrafaro as he attempts to become the main political player in the city. However, the ghost of a slave mistress (and Diego's partner in crime's obsession with her) makes these dealings harder. I winced at not only the treatment of slaves in this story, but also the descriptions of the owner's mindset, which to me as a Black female was all the more chilling. While it was harsh, it wasn't overworked. The ghost herself does not acknowledge the Señor at first, leaving first his sense of entitlement, then his sanity in shreds.
-Hellnotes
The Gothic Shift is a devilish tale. Lisa is a young lady struggling along working as a waitress. She is the quintessential beautiful girl next door; the type so many men want to get to know. Working alongside her is Wayne, not so easily liked, other than perhaps by himself. Toss in an extremely odd man, Mr. Arno, who is also known as 'The Shrimp Man', and you have a strange combination of characters. I won't give you too much in terms of plot detail, but I will say this: after reading this story you make think twice before eating shrimp.

The Penultimate Mr. Nilly visits the crew of a ship stuck in the Arctic ice over the bitter winter of 1859 as they slowly go mad from hunger. The ultimate solution - prompted by a stitched, velveteen toy wolf - gives a completely new twist on survival of the fittest.
-Kirkus Reviews
The Finger People takes place during the American Civil War. It follows the tribulations of a rebel cook who takes great pride in his ability to fill the mens' stomachs with something to eat, but lacks any other real confidence or fortitude. Not taking part in the actual fighting, his eyes are open to the things on the periphery. It is with this open gaze that he discovers something far more scary than fighting the Union. Something... or things... that sneak through the destruction unseen, with stealth, speed and claws.
