A March On London by G. A. Henty is a historical fiction novel set in the 15th century during the War of the Roses. The story follows the adventures of young Edmund, a page in the service of the Duke of York, as he becomes embroiled in the political and military struggles of the time. When the Duke of York is killed in battle, Edmund must flee for his life and join forces with the Lancastrian army. Along the way, he meets a variety of colorful characters, including a band of outlaws and a group of French knights. As the Lancastrians make their way towards London to take on the Yorkists, Edmund must use all his wit and courage to survive and help his new friends. This exciting tale of adventure and intrigue is sure to captivate readers of all ages. The king is going to mass at Westminster, the knight said, and after that he will ride round the city. I shall go myself to Westminster with him, and you can both ride with me, for it may be that the king on his way may be met by the rabble, which is composed of the worst and most dangerous of all who have been out, for in addition to Tyler's own following, there will be the prisoners released from all of the jails and the scum of the city. We will ride in our armour. They say there are still 20,000 of them, but even if the worst happens we may be able to carry the king safely through them. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
