We did not come to become gods;we came to become responsible for what we changed.Muo'an
Long before humanity carved its first histories into stone, a vast island rose from the Puriyan Ocean. In later ages, it would survive only as legend. Some would call it the Lost Continent; others would compare it to Lemuria. Yet none revealed its true origin. Its story began not on Earth, but among the stars. From the Andromeda Galaxy came two brothers, Muo'an and Rain. They crossed space aboard an advanced starship, carrying the mysterious Ardenite Eggs-creations fashioned from an exotic state of matter, powerful enough to reshape civilizations or destroy a world. As their vessel descended toward Earth, catastrophe unfolded. Its enormous energy field disturbed the tectonic balance beneath the Puriyan Ocean. The ancient crust fractured. Twenty-one volcanic rifts opened across the island, one becoming the colossal Mount Etrün.Rain saw danger: a beautiful land balanced above a geological system their arrival had destabilized.Muo'an saw something different. He saw the island and its people, a civilization untouched by the technological power the brothers carried from Andromeda. The purpose of their journey changed. Muo'an abandoned their original mission and chose to protect the land their arrival had wounded. If they had disturbed the island, he reasoned, they had become responsible for its fate.Using technology beyond indigenous understanding, the brothers constructed the Twenty-One Hadron Temples. To later generations, these immense circular structures became sacred monuments. In reality, they formed a geophysical surveillance network. Each circle monitored a volcanic fracture, while the principal circle watched Mount Etrün, creating an early-warning system against catastrophe. The islanders saw stone cut by beams of light and enormous structures rise with impossible speed. To Muo'an and Rain, it was science. To the people of Muanra, it was the work of gods. And so knowledge became mythology.Rain grew increasingly disturbed by the instability beneath the island. He could not accept life above twenty-one volcanic fractures and beneath the shadow of Etrün. Eventually, he left with his followers, crossing toward the distant Zen Sea, where he founded his own civilization.Muo'an remained in Muanra. He married the daughter of a local tribal leader, built a family, and founded a dynasty. Already regarded as more than mortal, Muo'an decreed that future rulers would inherit both his authority and his name. The First Muo'an would be followed by the Second, the Third, and onward.Centuries passed.Science became legend.Technology became sacred relics. Engineers became gods. History fractured into ritual, myth and prophecy. The true purpose of the Twenty-One Hadron Temples faded from human understanding, while Mount Etrün waited beneath the island.Generations passed until the dynasty reached the Eleventh Muo'an and his eldest son, the Twelfth Muo'an. But the Twelfth could produce no heir. His father, determined to preserve the dynasty, proposed a compromise: the Twelfth would rule for ten years, after which the throne would pass to his younger brother, Nasur, who would become the Thirteenth Muo'an.At first, the arrangement was accepted. But ten years is long enough for fear to become resentment, power to become identity, and succession to become a threat.he Twelfth Muo'an began resisting the future arranged for him.His marriage to Nefen, a princess of hostile Drankus, further altered the royal balance.Nefen intended to remain Queen of Muanra, while Nasur's accession threatened the world she intended to possess.A question of succession became a struggle of legitimacy, ambition and survival.Attempts against Nasur followed. For a thousand years, the people had lived above fractures created when Muo'an and Rain descended from the stars. Now another fracture had opened-inside the dynasty itself. And somewhere beneath them, Mount Etrün was still alive.
