Armenia itself becomes a character as the family and friends visit ancient khachkars, the Khor Virap Monastery, sweeping views of Mount Ararat, the Yerevan Cascades, and meet generous farmers, teachers and friends who help Violet learn lessons about dignity, history, hospitality, and belonging. When the family's assignment ends abruptly, Violet faces another goodbye, but carries with her the most important lesson of all: home isn't just one place.
