In her memoir, the author recounts how she had to face economic violence, physical and emotional abuse, and discrimination at the hands of her partner when she arri ved in a foreign country unprotected. She thus became another victim of childhood dehumanisation, experiencing a truncated childhood firsthand. Children who migrate leave their countries due to pover ty and violence, but their vulnerability puts them at risk of exploitation and marginalisation.
