This exciting new collection of six faery tales, based on African traditional myths and stories of ancient Celtic origin, is truly exceptional. In Orchid Quest, eleven-year-old Makena, a child born of Heaven and Earth, undertakes an incredible safari through the African wilderness, using only her wits and an enchanted pebble, to release her beloved grandmother from an evil enchantment. She makes unexpected friends on the way, but how can they help her survive deadly attacks from tail-lashing crocodiles, monstrous ogres and the terrifying hyena people? Will she succeed in collecting the magical orchid to save her grandmother's life and ensure the survival of her clan? In A Prince by Nature, ten-year-old Prince Dreon's happy childhood takes an unexpected turn when his loving parents and his best friend, the court wizard, all mysteriously disappear. Prince Dreon, the last-born of seven sons, is cheated by his treacherous brothers and finally forced to undertake a death-defying quest with only the help of the animals he befriends. How will young Dreon's dangerous search for a sprig of golden mistletoe, the Golden Bird and the teeth of the Iberian Dragon, help him to find another realm to rule and a beautiful princess to sit by his side?
