To make of yourself a light is to apply your own efforts to enlighten the inner true heart without relying on any external refuge. Only the wisdom gained from your own efforts can light up the way to your spiritual deliverance and attainment. With the true heart, you have loving-kindness from the bottom of your heart and share it with all other people, all other creatures. With the true heart, you can lead your people away from declination, and guide mankind away from eradication.
