Mahavira's religion had no unique or strict requirements for religious conduct. His path was open to all. To him, everyone was equal. Therefore, he clearly believed that humans should behave and think toward other humans in the same way that they expect others to behave toward themselves. This is simply called the principle of live and let live. This was a peaceful gift to the human mind which was troubled by the then religion which was full of mere scholarship, mere rituals and conservative hypocrisy of customs and regulations filled with expensive ceremonies. Instead of exploiting humanity, religion should only benefit humanity. Religion should be the saviour of humanity.
