Magistri Stopini ... Capriccia Macaronica, by Cesare Orsino, is a collection of macaronic verse, blending Latin with vernacular languages in a humorous and satirical style. This edition includes a new appendix, adding to the original work's playful exploration of language and culture. Macaronic poetry, known for its comical juxtapositions and clever wordplay, finds a vibrant expression in Orsino's work.
The collection offers a glimpse into the literary tastes and comedic sensibilities of its time. With its unique linguistic blend, Magistri Stopini ... Capriccia Macaronica remains an intriguing example of a distinct poetic form, appealing to readers interested in historical literature, linguistic humor, and the creative possibilities of macaronic verse.
