The Magic of Oz is a classic children's fantasy novel written by L. Frank Baum, published in 1919. It is the thirteenth book in the Oz series and follows the adventures of a young girl named Princess Ozma and her friends as they try to save the land of Oz from destruction. The story begins with a wicked witch named Mombi plotting to conquer Oz by using a magical powder that can turn people into stone. Ozma and her friends, including the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion, must journey to the land of the Flatheads and the Skeezers to prevent Mombi from obtaining the powder. Along the way, they encounter a host of strange creatures and obstacles, including a giant spider, a talking goat, and a deadly whirlpool. With the help of their wits and their magic, Ozma and her friends must overcome these challenges and save Oz from certain doom. The Magic of Oz is a timeless tale of courage, friendship, and the power of imagination that has captivated generations of readers. On the east edge of the Land of Oz, in the Munchkin Country, is a big, tall hill called Mount Munch. One one side, the bottom of this hill just touches the Deadly Sandy Desert that separates the Fairyland of Oz from all the rest of the world, but on the other side, the hill touches the beautiful, fertile Country of the Munchkins. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
