Louey Levy's Perfect Pitch, the sequel to Genie Abrams's acclaimed Louey Levy's Greatest Catch, sees Louey through her college years -- the turbulent 1960s. Music makes that time the best time in history to be young, as Louey fervently believes. It is also a time of war, assassinations, the Sexual Revolution, the rise of Black Power and Women's Liberation. Yet abortion is still illegal, even in New York State -- and Louey's voice-major friend desperately needs help. Who will provide that help, and how?
Perfect Pitch gives readers a perfect story -- suspenseful, uplifting and touching. Greatest Catch fans will be glad to know that Louey's funny Jewish family is still providing plenty of laughs and wisdom. There is also a fascinating story-within-a-story here, as Louey, approaching adulthood, begins deeply and frequently considering the role that memory plays in personal identity -- and vice versa.
Perfect Pitch will delight adult and young-adult readers equally, and is guaranteed to win new fans for Louey Levy. You'll be glad you caught it!
