Behind the walls of one of the most notorious correctional facilities in the country, survival wasn't guaranteed-for inmates or officers.

In Rules Are Meant To Be Broken, Jay Jefferson takes you inside a system where tension was always present, respect had to be earned, and every decision could carry consequences. As a young correctional officer navigating overcrowded dorms, unpredictable violence, and shifting power dynamics, he learned that the rules written on paper didn't always match reality.
