The title, with its punning reference to uncontrolled artillery, tells us what to expect. These poems are a law unto themselves. They take us to places we thought we knew and show us otherwise. They introduce us to strangers and leave us knowing them. They sing to the tunes of a lifetime immersed in music. Sad, angry and joyful by turns they deal honestly with loss and disillusionment while still summoning up love in all its aspects. Admirers of McNamara's work have been waiting a long time for a full collection. Loose Canon will not disappoint.- Ann Drysdale (Poet and former journalist)A magical U.K. write, of rain skies and storm, of nightmare and morning light, steeped in the tradition of the Bards creating the New Goth. A riveting Art Nouveau write, Loose Canon by Mike McNamara. - Subterranean Blue PoetryMike McNamara (Singer, Songwriter, Poet) was born in Ireland and moved to Newport when a child. He is the front man of the Welsh band Big Mac's Wholly Soul Band which has been a hot musical event traveling the countryside for 3 decades. He is from a musical family and his daughter Erin now sings with the band. Influenced by the Soul Music of Little Richard, Wilson Pickett, Sam Cooke he also writes and performs original music and creates poetry.
