In the sun-drenched savanna where races are won by the fleet of foot, Gwen the gazelle has always prided herself on her speed and dedication. Day after day, she sprints with her fellow gazelles, working tirelessly to earn her place at the podium.
But when a suspicious newcomer arrives on the track-a spotted cat with false horns claiming to be a gazelle-Gwen's world is turned upside down. Despite everyone seeing that he's clearly a cheetah, the officials have changed the rules and now insist this imposter must be accepted as a peer. Race after race, the cheetah dominates the competitions while the press and politicians shower him with praise.
Frustrated but determined, Gwen refuses to accept this new unfair reality. With wisdom from the savanna's respected elephant matriarch who boldly states the truth-he looks like a cheetah to me-Gwen hatches a clever plan. Sometimes winning isn't about being the fastest; it's about standing up for what's right and inspiring others to recognize the truth.
This delightfully illustrated rhyming tale teaches children the importance of fairness, speaking truth even when it's difficult, and the power of peaceful protest when facing injustice. The vibrant characters and subtle humor will captivate young readers while delivering a timeless message about integrity and courage.
If you enjoyed The Lion and the Mouse, The Sneetches, and Giraffes Can't Dance, you'll love Looks Like a Cheetah to Me.
