Listen Up! is the second book published by the Veterans' Writing Group San Diego. These stories and poems were written by 27 authors, many of whom are being published for the first time. They represent all branches of service and span several decades and five conflicts. We are especially pleased to present stories by seven women. We believe this enhances the breadth and depth of the military experiences related. The VWG is committed to supporting writing---for getting the stories told and for the benefit that comes to the writers. We hope that through these short memoirs, readers will get a better understanding of military service and the sacrifices that are made on our country's behalf.As with our first book, Away for the Holidays, we hope to distribute 3,000 copies of this book to veterans and active-duty military personnel who will be in hospitals or in transit during the year.
