In 1760, Abegail Smith is hoping to reunite with her father in America. During the long journey from London the ship capsizes in a severe storm. Managing to encircle an empty keg, she rides out the storm. As she is pushed ashore onto unfamiliar land, Abegail has hope of finding the locals and a solution on how to get to Boston. Soon the reality sinks in that no one lives on this land. It is an island, most likely off of the Maritime Provinces of Canada. Now she has to figure out how to survive, perhaps even through the winter, till she can get to the mainland. The only other problem? She is not the only survivor.
