Meet Eddie, an extraordinary giraffe with a big heart, an even longer neck, and a serious passion for the guitar! In Learn To Play Guitar With Eddie!, he invites young, aspiring musicians on a fun-filled and friendly journey into the vibrant world of music. This book is the perfect starting point for any child ready to take their first big step into playing an instrument.
From the very first page, children are greeted by Eddie, who is not only a giraffe that happens to play guitar but is also hard of hearing, requiring a big Hi Eddie! to get his attention. This book promises not to make you a virtuoso like Goose Springsteen or Jimmi Hen-drix overnight, but it will give you a solid foundation to begin your guitar journey and enable you to play something real.
Packed with playful illustrations and a dash of Eddie's unique, giraffe-sized humour, the book breaks down the basics in an accessible way. Readers will learn everything from the parts of the guitar, cleverly compared to a giraffe's anatomy, to how to hold it correctly, tune it using various methods, and even how to number their fingers for playing. The book introduces the building blocks of music, such as notes, which are described as a musical circle of A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. It then moves on to chords, imagined as a supergroup of notes teaming up to create musical magic, and provides clear chord charts to guide the way.
To make learning even more engaging, the book teaches how to read TAB, a special language for musicians that acts like a treasure map to playing songs without needing to read traditional sheet music. By the end of this adventure, children will be able to strum, pick, and play, putting everything they've learned into practice with a song Eddie wrote himself, Eddie Had A Rockin' Jam. This book provides the essential tools and confidence for young musicians to start playing and perhaps even write their own songs.
