Un'opera sul fondamentale ruolo politico e sociale di Giuseppe Dossetti Giuseppe Dossetti (Genova 1913 - Oliveto di Monteveglio 1996) fu una straordinaria figura di intellettuale, politico e monaco. Sia prima che dopo il ritiro dalla vita politica (fu vicesegretario della DC, membro autorevole dell'Assemblea Costituente, deputato, consigliere comunale di Bologna), egli mantenne una relazione molto critica, ma costante e feconda, con le sinistre, in nome dei valori costituzionali e dell'antifascismo. Un esempio fu la creazione dei Comitati per la difesa della Costituzione, convocati la mattina del 16 settembre 1994 nell'Abbazia di Monteveglio. La sera stessa, Dossetti, al fianco di Nilde Iotti, pronunciò un memorabile discorso sui valori costituzionali. Fu la premessa etico-politica su cui poi si fonderà l'esperienza dell'Ulivo. Questo volume raccoglie saggi e interventi di Alessandro Albergamo, Pietro Maria Alemagna, Davide Ferrari, Enrico Galavotti, Giuseppe Giliberti, Laura Renzoni Governatori. Davide Ferrari, poeta e scrittore, è direttore artistico dell'associazione culturale Casa dei pensieri, da lui fondata sotto l'egida di Paolo Volponi. È stato consigliere provinciale e consigliere comunale di Bologna. Giuseppe Giliberti, già ordinario di Fondamenti del Diritto europeo ad Urbino, è uno studioso di storia giuridica e di diritti umani.
