Le Roman de la Rose is one of the most important works of Old French literature. This second volume continues the allegorical dream vision, exploring themes of courtly love. Written in verse, the poem follows the dreamer's quest to possess a symbolic rosebud within a walled garden. This edition offers readers access to a foundational text in the development of the romance genre and medieval thought.
