The poems in this book are structural in nature, bridging written language and visual art. One type, the lattice, places phrases in a matrix that reveals the relationship of any word to all other words in the poem. In another type, a word or phrase is placed in a geometric continuum to show interactions within constituent parts of words or to visualize the overall texture of the poem. Other poems are humorous, symbolic word play, sometimes presented in the form of mathematical equations.
