Oliver is a translator in Paris working on a book by an obscure French author. A chance meeting of his friend's sister on the metro leads to a torrid affair. When he discovers that she lives in the very neighborhood, and building, used in Bertolucci's controversial film 'Last Tango In Paris', their affair takes on eerie parallels.
