This is the story of a miniature dragon that barks like a dog and uses his nose to smell danger. He is very different from a full-size dragon.

Because Lagon is different than other dragons, he is often being bullied by the goblins and gnomes of his village.

One night, as the entire village was fast asleep, a roaring fire came out the forest down toward the sleeping villagers. Lagon was asleep at the foot of Mr. Wizard's bed when he smelled the smoke. He bit Mr. Wizard's toe who let out a scream that woke the villagers, and everyone pitched in to put out the fire. The entire village turned out to cheer for Lagon, the hero.
