La Femme et le positivisme (Woman and Positivism) by Périclès Grimanelli, originally published in 1905, explores the role and status of women within the framework of positivist philosophy during the late 19th and early 20th centuries in France. This historical study delves into the social and intellectual currents that shaped perceptions of women in a society undergoing significant transformation. Grimanelli's work provides insights into the debates surrounding women's education, employment, and social rights in a period marked by both progress and persistent inequalities.
The book offers a valuable resource for scholars and students interested in the history of feminism, French social thought, and the intersection of gender and philosophy. It sheds light on the complex ways in which positivist ideas influenced discussions about women's place in society, making it relevant for understanding the intellectual landscape of the era.
