A gentle children's book about impulse control, rough play, emotional regulation, and respectful friendships.
Big feelings. Fast paws. One important lesson about when to pounce.
Luna Bear is bursting with excitement for a trip to the park. She wants to climb the tallest tower, race the fastest races, and show everyone just how big and strong she's become.
But excitement can make even the kindest little cub forget her manners.
When Luna's rough play leaves her new forest friends upset, a wise forest guardian named Leshy helps her discover an important truth:
Being strong is wonderful.
Being joyful is wonderful.
But learning when and how to use that energy matters too.
Through playful lessons, gentle guidance, and a second chance at friendship, Luna learns about:
- impulse control
- emotional regulation
- gentle hands and respectful play
- personal space and boundaries
- friendship skills and apologies
- rough play vs kind play
Perfect for children ages 3-8, families, classrooms, therapists, and gentle parenting conversations.
Set in the magical world of Baba Yaga's Wisdom Series, this beautifully illustrated woodland story helps children build social-emotional skills they can carry into everyday life.
Because every little cub deserves to learn:
there is a time to tumble...
and a time to tread gently.
