These charts were compiled every Saturday under the auspices of Melody Maker magazine and appeared exclusively in Sunday's national newspapers. It's in these charts that the Beatles' biggest hit singles made their first appearance - and where emerging classics had their Top 10 debuts.
Every chart is reproduced in full, with Top 10s from July 1958 to March 1962, and Top 20s through the rest of the decade. Each record in every chart is colour coded to show whether it's gone up or down from its position in the main Melody Maker chart. There are also comprehensive sections listing the hit records of every charted artist, a title index and a chronological guide to the hits of each record label.
