A best-selling author does what he can to suppress and disparage a fellow writer's work. Unfortunately for him, the Beat Generation writer he targets has enjoyed greater and longer-lasting success than the popular author. When tasked with turning the now-dead writer's most famous novel into a screenplay, he struggles to be charitable or admit that the other writer might be superior to him.
