This collection of notes, manuscripts, and presentation material addresses an understanding of several of the transport and kinetic processes needed for mainly two energy industries-nuclear and petroleum. An historical touch with the Atoms for Peace Speech of President Eisenhower with a comparison of fuel energy equivalents motivated the commercialization of nuclear power for electricity generation. Alongside has always been the matured oil industry. Here a classical drilling model characterized as a helical fluid model is derived. As both industries are challenged to maintain a safe operation these notes present attempt to present both simple and only as complex of mathematics as needed. The aim is to introduce ideas and several research tools to formulate analyses to help make better informed decisions with the best mathematics, statistics, and science information to benefit people and the environment affected.
