When faced with injustice, he stood against it, fought for justice, and stood for the truth even when he had to stand alone. He spoke out against injustice, despite the serious personal price he had to pay. And pay he did. He did not take a stand just because the individuals were Black, he took that stand because it was the right thing to do. If he did not stand for what was right, who would have? They tried to keep his mouth shut as the injustices occurred, but he did not fear the consequences of speaking out, or what others will think. If these individual airmen were White, he would have done the same, because he believes that standing up for what is right, does not have a color. He stood for truth and justice, no matter who told it, or who received it. What happened to him forever changed his life, yet, and when asked if he would do it again, he quickly replied: yes, absolutely, and stated: Sometimes you don't know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.
