Little Rat Triplets is a poetry book written with the facade of a stage play, loosely displaying snapshots of three distinct, though seemingly related characters in different moments of their lives. Inside these poems are moments of wonder, discovery, loss, struggle, and persistence, among many other experiences through the lens of these three.

Sharlice is a writer, endeavoring to create a work that can encompass her dreams as wholly as possible.

Derek, we see over the course of his life in various stages, and the various states of his psyche and world.

Mauri tries to understand their place in the world through the memories of lingering traumas of childhood.

There is also a chorus, as a call to traditional play structures, though they play a role that serves more as an intermission-like space, while also attempting to provide levity through some of the more somber topicalities.

Primarily though, this is a story about me, in loose terms, as I think a lot of poetry is.
