A mighty Lion is accidentally awakened by a clumsy Vulture who disturbs his peaceful sleep. Furious at first, the Lion raises his paw to strike-but the Vulture pleads for mercy, promising that one day she might repay his kindness. Amused, the Lion lets her go. Days later, the Lion falls into a hidden hunter's trap. Bound tightly by ropes and unable to escape, he roars in pain and fear. Hearing his cries, the Vulture swoops in. Without hesitation, she uses her sharp beak to peck through the ropes until the Lion is finally freed. The Lion is humbled and deeply moved. In that moment, he realizes that loyalty is one of the most powerful traits of true friendship-being dependable, trustworthy, and present when it matters most.
