Our topic is a person and problem, just as plainly as can be. While it is an ancient issue, Do men make history? or does History make Men? the two go together. Pure and simple it was a time for a revolution or as Southern sympathizers would say, A Second War for Independence. Into that crisis stepped one of the most amazing men in our national epic, Abraham Lincoln. A catechism is a book of questions and answers on a certain subject. This book is organized into three parts: A Man, A Crisis, and An Outcome. I hope it is helpful and that it will result in some deep recollection of one of the major personalities and turning points in our national experience.
