The Lincoln Battalion: The Story Of The Americans Who Fought In Spain In The International Brigades by Edwin Rolfe is a comprehensive account of the American volunteers who fought in the Spanish Civil War as part of the International Brigades. The book provides a detailed history of the conflict, including the political and social factors that led to the outbreak of war, as well as the experiences of the American volunteers who fought on the front lines.Through extensive research and interviews with surviving veterans, Rolfe offers a vivid portrayal of the men who joined the Lincoln Battalion, their motivations for doing so, and the challenges they faced during their time in Spain. The book also explores the political and ideological divisions within the International Brigades, as well as the role of the Soviet Union in the conflict.Overall, The Lincoln Battalion is a compelling and informative account of a little-known chapter in American history, shedding light on the experiences of those who fought for a cause they believed in, and the impact of their actions on the wider world. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
