Life's a Wander gathers striking autobiographical narratives by Martha Woodroof, popular NPR reporter and host, and author of the novel, Small Blessings -- a novel that received good reviews from the Library Journal, the Kirkus Reviews, and others, and was chosen by the Oprah Book Club. The novel was also optioned for a film script and is now in production. Life's a Wander details Woodroof's struggles with addiction and psychological trauma, her eventual triumph as NPR personality and celebrated author, and her poignant confrontation with terminal cancer. Her readers will recognize the lively language they encountered in Small Blessings, and learn a great deal about her views on religion, politics, addiction, and finding happiness. As Martha writes, I shall write this as I lived it - all over the place; emotionally, professionally, geographically ... Life is, after all, a wander, not a plot.
