It's true and immediate love when Jo Ann first lays her eyes on Rusty, a beautiful red Irish setter puppy. Full of spirit and mischief, Rusty quickly burrows himself deep in Jo Ann's heart, and she promises to love and protect him forever-no matter what. It isn't long before Rusty and Jo Ann grow inseparable, causing her husband, Johnny, to jokingly refer to him as Jo Ann's Redheaded Furry Twin. Rusty doesn't make it easy, testing the limits of Jo Ann's vow. The class clown at obedience school; Rusty ransacks the house, ruins furniture, and runs away from home-and through it all Jo Ann defends and loves him, just like she promised to. A charming and engaging story about a kooky, energetic Irish setter and the human who kept her promise to love him not just despite-but because of-his larger-than-life personality. Life with Rusty is a beautiful tale about unconditional love and the eternal bonds humans form with the animals with whom they share their hearts and homes.
