The Life of Mrs. Godolphin, written by John Evelyn and published in 1847, is a biography of Margaret Blagge Godolphin, a devoutly religious woman who lived in the 17th century. The book explores her life as a member of the aristocracy, her marriage to Sir William Godolphin, and her conversion to Catholicism. It also delves into her relationships with important figures of her time, such as Queen Mary II and the Duke of Marlborough. Throughout the biography, Evelyn portrays Mrs. Godolphin as a model of piety and virtue, and her life as an example of how one can live a meaningful and fulfilling existence through faith. The book is considered an important historical document, shedding light on the religious and social mores of the time, and is still widely read today. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
