The Life of Columba: The Apostle of Scotland by Newcomb, Harvey is a comprehensive biography of Saint Columba, a prominent figure in early Christianity who is credited with spreading the faith throughout Scotland in the 6th century. The book explores the life and legacy of Columba, from his birth in Ireland to his establishment of the monastery on the island of Iona, which became a hub for religious and cultural exchange. The author delves into the saint's religious beliefs, his relationships with other religious figures of the time, and his contributions to the development of Christianity in Scotland. The book is well-researched and provides a detailed account of the historical and cultural context in which Columba lived. It is a must-read for anyone interested in the history of Christianity in Scotland and the life of this influential saint.1834.
