The Life of Anthony Benezet is a biographical account of the eponymous Quaker abolitionist and educator. Written by Benezet himself, the book details his life from his birth in France to his eventual settlement in Philadelphia, where he became a prominent figure in the abolitionist movement. Benezet's commitment to ending slavery is a recurring theme throughout the book, as he describes his efforts to educate both slaves and slave owners about the evils of the institution. The book also highlights Benezet's work as a teacher and his founding of the first school for girls in Philadelphia. Overall, The Life of Anthony Benezet provides a fascinating glimpse into the life of a tireless advocate for social justice in the 18th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
