The Life And Times Of William Lowndes Yancey by John Witherspoon DuBose is a historical account of the political parties in the United States between 1834 and 1864, with a particular focus on the origins of the Confederate States. The book is a biography of William Lowndes Yancey, a prominent politician and secessionist who played a key role in the formation of the Confederacy. The author provides a detailed analysis of Yancey's life and political career, including his involvement in the Democratic Party, his advocacy for states' rights and slavery, and his efforts to promote secession in the South. The book also explores the broader political and social context of the period, including the rise of abolitionism, the tensions between the North and South, and the events leading up to the Civil War. Overall, The Life And Times Of William Lowndes Yancey offers a comprehensive and insightful look at one of the most tumultuous periods in American history. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
