In this work, The Life and Mariology of Father Juniper B. Carol, O.F.M., Chris Padgett examines Fr. Carol's time as a Franciscan. Fr. Carol spent a great portion of his life working, publishing, and living independent from his community and its traditional expectations of a highly educated friar. This unique way of living afforded him the opportunity to spend significant time publishing books and spearheading the formation and organization of the Mariological Society of America. This book also examines his role in three Marian teachings upon which Carol regularly focused. The first is the absolute primacy and predestination of Jesus and His Virgin Mother, the second is the debitum peccati and the last is Mary as Coredemptrix.
