In June 1967, the young nation of Israel faced a precarious situation as tensions with neighboring Egypt, Jordan, and Syria escalated toward war. The Egyptian President, Gamal Abdel Nasser, had closed the Straits of Tiran to shipping, expelled United Nations peacekeepers and observers from the Sinai Peninsula, massed troops on Isreal's southern border, and made speeches signaling an imminent invasion. On June 5, Israel launched a preemptive strike, targeting the Egyptian Air Force and crippling it within hours. This bold move marked the beginning of the Six-Day War. The conflict rapidly expanded as Jordan and Syria joined the fight, bombarding Israeli cities and military positions. However, Israel's military strategy and preparedness led to a series of swift and decisive victories. In just six days, Israeli forces captured the Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip, West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights. The most emotionally charged moment came with the capture of Old City Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, granting access to the Western Wall, the most sacred site for Jews worldwide. The outcome of the war was seen as miraculous by many in Israel and around the world, given the overwhelming odds at the start of the war. Although few understood its sacred significance at the time, the victory by Israel had been foretold by the prophet Daniel more than 2,500 years before in happened. This book explains that prophecy.
