The Library of American Biography is a three-part book that was published in 1848 by Jared Sparks. The first part of the book is the Life of John Ribault, a French explorer who founded the short-lived colony of Fort Caroline in what is now Jacksonville, Florida. The book details Ribault's life and his contributions to the exploration of the New World. The second part of the book is the Life of Sebastian Rale, a Jesuit missionary who worked among the Native American tribes in New England during the 17th century. Rale was a controversial figure, and the book explores his life and his impact on the Native American communities he served. The third and final part of the book is the Life of William Palfrey, a prominent Boston merchant and patriot who played a key role in the American Revolution. The book discusses Palfrey's life and his contributions to the cause of American independence.Overall, The Library of American Biography is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of the United States and the people who helped shape it.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
